Complete a group advertising project in two stages. Your group will 1.) create a strategic plan to advertise a hypothetical product, then 2.) design multiple advertisements.
Plan, write and design collateral for a mini fundraising campaign for an assigned client. You’ll have several options for what type of content you produce depending on the needs of your client.
Students will prepare a crisis communication plan for a real-world client. In this final project, students will apply public relations theory and methods learned in the course.

Groups will be assigned a crisis case to review. Building on information provided by the professor and in the textbooks, students will research case information (using outside sources), study case communication efforts, critique crisis response measures and present findings.
Crisis Case: Twitter, Elon Musk and Tesla
Groups will be assigned a management case to review. Building on information provided by the professor and in the textbooks, students will research case information (using outside sources), study case communication efforts, critique crisis response measures and present findings.
Management Case: Nuclear Meltdown and Credibility - The Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown
Students will identify an upcoming event or newsworthy topic in the local community and write a 500-word news release. Students will conduct interviews with primary and secondary sources.
NOT AVAILABLE YET — Students will develop a proposal for a local ad campaign based on a prompt. Students will create a strategic vision for the campaign using goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics.
NOT AVAILABLE YET — Based on the strategic briefs, students will write a series of ads for their proposed campaign. Students must demonstrate, explain, and defend multiple messaging strategies in the work.
